TESTIMONIAL  TO JENNIE CHAPMAN
ON THE FAHEY FAMILY HISTORY

After thirty years of part time research into my family history, and the constant frustration of dead ends and loose ends, I contacted Jennie Chapman of Tasmanian Genealogy Services to try and piece the Fahey family together. I landed Jennie with boxes of uncoordinated material and gave her carte blanche to finalise my family’s history from their first entry into Tasmania.

Her dedication to this research seemingly knew no bounds, and the final result was way beyond what I thought possible. Not only was Jennie able to put into chronological order all that I gave her, but she found out so much that we had no idea about. She left no stone unturned, and found out the good and the bad, without fear or favour, which is exactly what I was looking for.

We were extremely proud of our family prior to Jennie’s completed history, but the published Fahey Family History took us all to a totally new level. The completed work contains so much that we had no idea existed. It is easy to read, basically in chronological order, and is made so much more interesting because of the number of photos, documents, grave sites and other valuable “accessories” to the facts, that have been included.

Jennie virtually became an extended member of my family during her painstaking research, and her excitement over each new find matched my own. I could never have imagined that all the members of my humble family, from their first entry into Tasmania on a convict ship in 1849, would be remembered in such a manner that all the world could see.

I cannot thank Jennie enough for her dedication to the cause, her extreme professionalism and compassion, and her genuine delight in each new find. We developed a genuine friendship during and since the book was published, and I thank her immensely, both personally, and on behalf of the entire Fahey clan.
